How will commercial real estate be affected by the current issues affecting transit growth and development? And how can our city and other governmental agencies partner together to create innovative solutions, spur improvements and adapt to significant change?
Please join us for this exceptional October SIOR Chapter meeting featuring two individuals at the very center of one of our most crucial concerns -- transit. This is a great opportunity to hear about bold new initiatives focused on providing greater access, expansion, and solutions for our growing population and industry demands.
As Georgia’s Commissioner of Transportation, Russell McMurry oversees an agency that has grown to more than $3 billion a year, employs more than 4,000 people, and operates the 10th largest transportation system in the country. He was recently voted the 2018 Georgian of the Year by Georgia Trend Magazine, not only for his visionary leadership, but also for his diligent crisis management during 2017’s 1-85 bridge collapse, a highly-coordinated team effort that saw the interstate repaired and open within only six weeks.
Gregory Floyd, AICP, is the Senior Land Use Planner for MARTA working directly with all MARTA Transit Oriented Developments (TODS). As the point person on the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Greg helps establish land use policies for all TODS, including Chamblee, Avondale, and Edgewood-Candler Park, among many others. And now that MARTA’s Board of Directors just unanimously passed a 3.5 billion dollar plan to build a more connected city, MARTA will focus on the blueprint for Atlanta’s largest transit expansion in decades.
Both of these highly regarded speakers will discuss transit-oriented development and ways in which the commercial real estate community can collaborate to produce quality solutions and a path towards the future. Our very own Sim Doughtie will moderate this exciting panel discussion and there will be time for your questions as well. So please RSVP today!
